Our Story

It Began With
a Missed Game

A note from the founder.

Every club begins with a need its founder could not satisfy anywhere else. Mine arrived on an ordinary weeknight, when a game of Commander fell through and I found myself lying awake with a simple, nagging realization: for me, there was nowhere to go. While there are lots of gaming stores and places to play, my time is limited, and the places I used to go when I was 15-20 years old are still full of 15-20 year olds. That’s just not the place for me anymore. No standing table, room waiting, or community on call for people who have more monetary resources than time, but still want to play.

Somewhere past midnight, frustration gave way to a whiteboard. By morning, the outline of Gamer’s Guild Social Club existed, a private club for working professionals whose hobbies deserve better than a kitchen table and a calendar of canceled sessions. A place with the atmosphere and standards of a country club, built instead around the games that bring people together, and the people worth knowing across them.

We are starting deliberately small. Only twenty founding members. Because the right way to build a club is around its people. Their judgment will shape the library, the programming, and the character of the rooms. The ambition, however, is not small: to build the preeminent gaming-focused social club in the world.

It started with one missed game. The point of everything that follows is that you never miss another.
